Del Valle Regional Park, a sprawling 4,395-acre oasis in Alameda County, is a true gem of the East Bay Regional Park District. The park's centerpiece is Lake Del Valle, a five-mile-long reservoir created in 1968 by damming Arroyo Valle. This picturesque lake offers 16 miles of shoreline and serves as a hub for water-based recreation. Visitors can enjoy swimming at the East and West Swim Beaches, with lifeguards on duty during posted periods. Boating is a popular activity, with a marina offering rentals of motorboats, patio boats, canoes, and kayaks. Fishing enthusiasts will find a diverse selection of fish, including trout, catfish, and bass, as the lake is regularly stocked. The park also features numerous picnic areas, perfect for enjoying a meal amidst the scenic surroundings. The park is also the eastern gateway to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, a 28-mile scenic backcountry trail.
