Walking
From Fisherman's Wharf, walk south along Columbus Avenue for about 1 mile. Washington Square will be on your left, bordered by Saints Peter and Paul Church. This is a straightforward, mostly flat walk. No costs involved.
Public Transport
From the Ferry Building, take the 12 bus to the Pacific Ave & Grant Ave stop. Washington Square is a short walk from there. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes. A single ride on Muni costs $3.
Ride Share
From Union Square, a taxi or ride-share to Washington Square will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay between $15 and $25. Note that traffic can be heavy, especially during peak hours.
Driving
If driving, approach Washington Square via Columbus Avenue or Filbert Street. Parking in the immediate vicinity can be challenging. Several parking garages are available within a few blocks, with hourly rates typically ranging from $4 to $10. Street parking is metered and limited. Closest parking is at 604 Filbert Street.
