Public Transit
From San Mateo, head to the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2 N B St, San Mateo, CA 94401. Take the southbound Caltrain towards San Francisco. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 4th and King station in San Francisco. From there, transfer to the Muni T line (light rail) at the nearby Muni station. Ride the T line towards the Sunnydale station and get off at the Embarcadero station. Transfer to the Muni 30 bus towards the Bayview-Hunters Point and get off at the Broadway & Lyon St stop, which is a short walk to the Lyon Street Steps.

Walk to the nearest SamTrans bus stop in San Mateo. Board the SamTrans Route 292 bus towards San Francisco. Ride it for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the stop at the San Francisco Caltrain Station. From there, switch to the Muni 1 bus towards California St & Van Ness Ave. Ride it until you reach the Broadway & Lyon St stop. You will be just a short walk away from the Lyon Street Steps.
