Public Transit
If you're in San Mateo, head to the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 1 E 4th Ave. From there, take the Caltrain north towards San Francisco. Get off at the 4th and King station in San Francisco. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk towards the Muni Metro T line at the same station. Take the T line towards Bayview Hunters Point and get off at the Embarcadero station. Then transfer to the F Market & Wharves streetcar, which you can catch across the street from the Embarcadero station. Ride the F streetcar towards Fisherman's Wharf and get off at the Fisherman's Wharf stop. Walk north along the waterfront to Pier 45, where you will find the Musée Mécanique.

From San Mateo, you can take the SamTrans bus route 397 towards the Millbrae BART station. At Millbrae, transfer to BART and take the train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Get off at the Embarcadero station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the F Market & Wharves streetcar line. Board the F streetcar towards Fisherman's Wharf and disembark at the Fisherman's Wharf stop. From this stop, walk north along the waterfront to reach Pier 45 and the Musée Mécanique.
