Public Transport - Bus
From San Mateo, head to the San Mateo Transit Center located at 200 E 2nd Ave. Take the SamTrans Bus Route 292 towards San Francisco. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes until you reach the bus stop at Washington St & Grant Ave in San Francisco. From the bus stop, walk south on Grant Ave for about 5 minutes. The Saloon will be on your right at 1232 Grant Ave.
Public Transport - Caltrain and Bus
Make your way to the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2 N B St. Take the Caltrain heading north towards San Francisco. Get off at the 4th & King Station in San Francisco. From there, transfer to the Muni Bus Route 30 or 45. Take the bus to the stop at Washington St & Grant Ave. Walk south on Grant Ave for 5 minutes, and you will find The Saloon at 1232 Grant Ave on your right.
Walking
If you're already in downtown San Mateo, you can walk to the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2 N B St. From there, take the Caltrain to San Francisco, as detailed above. Alternatively, if you prefer to explore, take a local bus to reach the Caltrain station and continue your journey from there.
