Walking
From the Powell Street BART Station, walk north along Powell Street for two blocks. Union Square will be on your left, surrounding the Dewey Monument.
Public Transport
Take any Muni Metro line to the Union Square/Market Street Station. The main entrance is on Geary Street at the southeast corner of Union Square. Alternatively, several Muni bus lines serve the area. A single ride fare is $3.00, or $2.85 with a Clipper card.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services can drop you off directly at Union Square. Be aware of potential traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. A short ride from nearby locations typically costs $15-25.
Driving
Driving to Union Square is possible, but parking can be challenging and expensive. Several parking garages are available in the area, with hourly rates ranging from $1 to $9 and daily rates from $34 to $50. The Union Square Garage, located underneath the square, offers 670 spaces. Early bird rates are available.
