Walking
If you are in central Montecito, head towards Coast Village Road, which is a main thoroughfare. Walk east along Coast Village Road until you reach Olive Mill Road. Turn right on Olive Mill Road and continue walking until you reach Channel Drive. Once on Channel Drive, head south until you see Butterfly Beach on your left. The beach is located near the intersection of Channel Drive and Butterfly Lane.
Public Transportation (Bus)
You can take the MTD (Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District) bus service. Look for the Line 20 or Line 21 buses that travel along Coast Village Road. Board the bus heading towards Santa Barbara. Disembark at the stop closest to Olive Mill Road. From there, walk east on Coast Village Road, turn right on Olive Mill Road, then take a right onto Channel Drive and head south to reach Butterfly Beach.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, Montecito offers several bike-friendly paths. Start at any central location in Montecito and pedal towards Coast Village Road. From there, head east on Coast Village Road, then turn right onto Olive Mill Road. Continue south on Olive Mill Road until you reach Channel Drive. Turn left on Channel Drive and ride south until you reach Butterfly Beach.
