Google Android Statues: A Sweet Byte of History
A nostalgic tech landmark showcasing the evolution of the Android operating system through dessert-themed statues. Temporarily removed for repairs and relocation.
Once a whimsical display of Android operating system mascots, the Google Android Statues Square in Mountain View offered a fun photo opportunity with dessert-themed statues representing different Android versions. However, the statues were removed in 2022 for repairs and relocation due to redevelopment plans.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Walking
From any point within the Google campus, follow the signs towards the Landings office complex. While the statues are currently not on display, the area is generally accessible for walking. Check for updated information on the statues' relocation.
Public Transport
Take the VTA Route 40 bus from the Mountain View Transit Center towards the Google Visitor Experience. The bus ride to the Charleston & Huff stop takes approximately 9 minutes. From there, it's a short walk to the former location of the Android statues. Note that the Mountain View Community Shuttle is a free option with multiple stops around town.
Driving
If driving, free parking was previously available at the Alta Garage located at 1001 Alta Ave, an 8-minute walk from the Google Visitor Experience. Check for updated parking information related to the statues' new location. From April 12 to June 1, a temporary connector shuttle used to run every 15 minutes between Alta Garage and the Google Visitor Experience.
