Public Transit - Bus
From Santa Clara, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take the VTA bus line 60 or 66 towards the direction of San Jose. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the 'Capitol Station'. From there, transfer to the VTA bus line 68 towards Watsonville. This bus will take you towards the coast. After approximately 30 more minutes, get off at the 'Rio Del Mar Beach' stop. The beach will be a short walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Santa Clara. Start by heading towards the San Tomas Expressway bike lane. Follow the bike path south until you reach the intersection with CA-1. Turn right on CA-1 and continue until you reach the Rio Del Mar area. It will take about 1.5 hours to reach the beach, so make sure to plan your trip accordingly.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, start at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Walk east on Great America Parkway until you reach the intersection with Tasman Drive. Turn left and continue walking until you reach the bus terminal. From there, catch a bus as described above. This option will take a significant amount of time, so it is recommended only for those who are comfortable with long distances and want to explore the city on foot.
