St. James Park: A Green Oasis in the Heart of San Jose

Getting There

• Bus

  If you are in Santa Clara, start by heading to the nearest bus stop. Look for the VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) bus routes. Take the #60 bus towards 'San Jose Diridon Station'. Stay on the bus for approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at 'San Jose Diridon Station'. From there, transfer to the #23 or #82 bus heading towards 'E St James St'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop 'N 2nd St & E St James St'. St James Park will be right in front of you.

• Light Rail

  From Santa Clara, make your way to the nearest VTA light rail station. Board the light rail heading towards 'Santa Teresa'. Travel for about 15-20 minutes and get off at 'San Jose Diridon Station'. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk towards the bus terminal. Take the #23 or #82 bus towards 'E St James St'. After a short ride of about 10 minutes, disembark at 'N 2nd St & E St James St'. St James Park will be easily visible.

• Walking

  If you are close enough, you might consider walking to St James Park. From the downtown area of Santa Clara, head east on El Camino Real. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with N 2nd St. Turn right on N 2nd St and walk for about 20-30 minutes. St James Park will be at the intersection of N 2nd St and E St James St.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Start by heading east on El Camino Real. After approximately 1 mile, turn right onto N 2nd St and continue straight for about another mile. You will arrive at St James Park at the intersection with E St James St. There are bike racks available for parking your bike.
