Walking
From the Palo Alto Caltrain station, walk north on University Avenue. Turn left onto Palm Drive, the main entrance to Stanford. Continue on Palm Drive until you reach the Oval, the large grassy area in front of the Main Quad. The Visitor Center is located near the traffic circle connecting Galvez Street to Campus Drive, adjacent to the Stanford Athletic Shop.

Public Transport
From the Palo Alto Caltrain station, take the free Stanford Marguerite Shuttle. Several lines serve different parts of campus; check the schedule for the most convenient route to your destination. Lines A and C will take you closest to the main quad. The Marguerite is free and open to the public. Alternatively, the VTA bus also serves the area. Clipper cards are accepted.

Driving
From Highway 101, exit onto University Avenue heading west. Continue on University Avenue into Palo Alto. Turn left onto Palm Drive, the main entrance to Stanford. Follow Palm Drive to visitor parking areas near the Main Quad or other campus destinations. Parking is available in coin-metered spaces for $1.50 per hour. One-day visitor permits are available for $12. Parking rules are enforced until 4:00 PM.
