Walking
From the Santa Monica Pier, head south along Ocean Front Walk. Chess Park is located approximately 0.3 miles south of the pier, on the west side of Ocean Front Walk, adjacent to the beach. The walk is flat and paved, offering scenic views of the ocean and the pier.
Public Transport
If arriving by the Big Blue Bus, disembark at the Ocean Ave & Colorado Ave stop. From there, walk west towards Ocean Front Walk, then turn left (south). Chess Park will be a short walk down the path on your right. A single ride on the Big Blue Bus costs $1.25.
Driving
If driving, parking is available in nearby public lots and garages in Downtown Santa Monica. Parking rates vary, typically costing $2.50 per hour in the beach zone. Consider parking near the Third Street Promenade for free 90-minute parking, then walk to the park. Alternatively, limited metered street parking is available on Ocean Avenue.
