From the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Colorado Avenue, the Santa Monica Pier Arch is immediately visible at the entrance to the pier. Simply walk west on Colorado Avenue towards the ocean; the archway marks the beginning of the pier. The walk is short and straightforward.
Public Transport

If arriving by the Metro Expo Line, exit at the Downtown Santa Monica Station (4th St. and Colorado Ave.). Walk west on Colorado Avenue towards Ocean Avenue. The Pier entrance and Arch are a short 10-minute walk. Alternatively, several Big Blue Bus lines stop along Ocean Avenue near Colorado Avenue (routes 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9). From the bus stop, the arch is a short walk west towards the pier entrance. A single fare on the Big Blue Bus is $1.25, and a Metro ride is $1.75.
Driving

If driving, approach the pier via Ocean Avenue. The pier entrance is at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Colorado Avenue. Be aware that parking on the pier itself is limited and can be expensive. Several parking lots are available nearby, including Lot 1 North (1550 Appian Way) and downtown parking structures. Parking rates vary from $7 to $20 per day, depending on the lot and the day of the week. Metered street parking is also available, typically costing $1.25 - $2.50 per hour with a 2-hour time limit.
