    The Nevada State Museum is located in downtown Carson City on N Carson Street. From many downtown locations, the museum is easily accessible by foot. Head north on Carson Street, and the museum will be on your left, across from the Carson Nugget.

    Jump Around Carson (JAC) is Carson City's public transit system. Several JAC routes stop near the museum. Check the JAC website or app for the most up-to-date route information and schedules. A one-way fare is $1.50 for adults, and $0.75 for seniors and those with disabilities.

  • Driving

    The Nevada State Museum is located at 600 N Carson St, Carson City, NV 89701. Parking is available in the free public lot on the west side of Curry Street, behind the museum. Street parking is limited to two hours.

Visitors can explore Nevada's natural history, including a Columbian Mammoth skeleton found in the Black Rock Desert. The 'Under One Sky' exhibit showcases the history of Nevada's earliest inhabitants through 10,000-year-old artifacts, presented from the perspective of American Indians. Don't miss the chance to see Coin Press No. 1, which still produces medallions with the famed 'CC' mint mark. Another highlight is the silver service from the USS Nevada battleship, crafted from 5,000 ounces of silver.
