Discover more about University Park World Peace Rose Garden

The University Park World Peace Rose Garden, nestled within the grounds of California State University Stanislaus-Stockton Campus, offers a tranquil retreat for visitors seeking beauty and serenity. Dedicated on April 21, 2016, in partnership with the International World Peace Rose Gardens (IWPRG), this garden is more than just a collection of roses; it's a symbol of peace and unity. The garden's design is inspired by the sun, with a central Peace Plaza and flower beds that radiate outwards like sunrays, interspersed with smaller beds representing the planets. Over 245 roses, specially selected for the climate, fill the garden with vibrant colors and intoxicating fragrances. Each rose variety has a unique name, some named after historical figures such as 'Abraham Lincoln' and 'Coretta Scott King', and others with names such as 'Peace', 'Honor', and 'Firefighter'. The garden provides a space for quiet contemplation, meditation, and leisurely strolls. Benches are strategically placed throughout the garden, inviting visitors to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The garden is part of the University Park Discovery Trail, a one-mile walk highlighting art, architecture, and nature within the campus. The trail also features the Magnolia Mansion, built in 1900. The garden is open 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset.
