Public Bus
From Turlock, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Stanislaus Regional Transit (SRT) bus. Board the Route 10 bus heading towards Oakdale. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, and disembark at the Oakdale stop near Covered Bridge Road. From there, walk south on Covered Bridge Road for about 1 mile until you reach Knights Ferry Recreation Area.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Turlock. Start at the intersection of Main Street and Golden State Boulevard and head east on Main Street. Continue straight onto Oakdale Road, which will lead you out of Turlock. Follow Oakdale Road for about 8 miles until you reach Covered Bridge Road. Turn left on Covered Bridge Road, and you will find Knights Ferry Recreation Area just ahead.

Walking
For a long walk, begin at the Turlock Town Center. Head east on Monte Vista Avenue until you reach the intersection with Golden State Boulevard. Cross over to Golden State Boulevard and continue north. You will eventually merge onto W. 7th Street, which will take you out of Turlock. Keep walking until you reach Covered Bridge Road; turn left and walk about 1 mile to reach the Knights Ferry Recreation Area.
