Getting There
Bicycle
Start at the center of Turlock, specifically from Turlock Town Square. Head east on Main St towards Lander Ave. Turn left onto Lander Ave and continue for about 2 miles. At the intersection, turn right onto W Tuolumne Rd and follow it for another 3 miles. This road will lead you directly towards Lake Rd. Turn left onto Lake Rd, and you will find the entrance to Turlock Lake State Rec Area on your right after approximately 1 mile.
Walking
From Turlock Town Square, walk east on Main St to Lander Ave. Turn left onto Lander Ave and continue walking for about 2 miles. Next, take a right onto W Tuolumne Rd, which you will follow for around 3 miles. As you approach Lake Rd, turn left onto Lake Rd, and the Turlock Lake State Rec Area entrance will be about 1 mile down the road on your right. This is a longer walk, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
Public Transit
Begin your journey at the Turlock Transit Center located at 600 W Main St. Take the Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) bus line that heads towards La Grange. Make sure to check the schedule for the exact times as they can vary. You will need to get off at the stop near Lake Rd. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk to the entrance of Turlock Lake State Rec Area, which is located at 22600 Lake Rd, La Grange, CA 95329.
