From Union City, walk to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the AC Transit Bus 99 towards the 'Hayward BART' station. Ride for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the 'Hayward BART' station. Once at Hayward BART, transfer to the BART train heading towards 'Pittsburg/Bay Point'. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the 'Palo Alto' station. From the Palo Alto BART station, you can catch the Stanford Marguerite Shuttle (free shuttle service) that takes you directly to Stanford University. Get off at the stop for Hoover Tower.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Union City. Head northwest on Decoto Road for about 5 miles until you reach the San Francisco Bay Trail. Follow the trail north along the water for approximately 10 miles, enjoying scenic views. When you reach the Palo Alto area, continue on the local bike lanes towards Stanford University. The Hoover Tower is located at 550 Jane Stanford Way, and there are bike racks available for parking your bike.
