Driving
From Santa Monica, take Pacific Coast Highway (CA-1) west for approximately 11 miles. The pier will be on your left. From the San Fernando Valley, take the Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon exit from the 101 Freeway. Follow it south until you reach Pacific Coast Highway, then turn left and drive east for about 1.5 miles until you see the pier. Parking is available in a lot next to the pier, with rates that vary by season. Street parking is also available, but it fills up quickly. Expect to pay around $10 for all-day parking in the lot.
Public Transport
The Metro 534 bus runs from Downtown Santa Monica to Malibu, stopping directly in front of the pier. The one-way fare is $1.75. Check the MTA website or use a mapping app for the most up-to-date schedule. From Los Angeles, take the Metro E Line to Downtown Santa Monica Station, then transfer to the 134 bus. The total cost is about $4.
Ride-Sharing
Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in the Malibu area. From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), expect to pay around $40-$50 for a ride to Malibu Pier. The LAX-it system requires taking a free shuttle from the arrival level to the ride-share pick-up zone.
Walking
If you are already in the Malibu area, walking to the pier is a great option. From Surfrider Beach, simply walk west along the beach or the Pacific Coast Highway to reach the pier. From the Adamson House, walk east along the beach or highway. There are no fees for walking onto the pier.
