Walking
From Venice Beach Boardwalk, head east towards Pacific Ave. Turn right onto Pacific Ave and walk north. Continue walking until you reach Rose Ave, then turn left. Follow Rose Ave until you reach 6th Ave, then turn right. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Washington Blvd. Turn left onto Washington Blvd and continue walking until you reach the bus stop for the Malibu local bus (Line 534). Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride to Malibu, making sure to get off at the stop closest to Yerba Buena Rd. Once you are off the bus, walk along Yerba Buena Rd until you reach the Sandstone Peak Trailhead Parking, located at 12860-12896 Yerba Buena Rd.

Biking
Rent a bike from one of the local shops near Venice Beach. Start on the Venice Beach Boardwalk and head north. Follow the bike path along the beach until you reach the Malibu area. When you reach the intersection of Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH), turn left and carefully bike along PCH until you reach Yerba Buena Rd. Turn left onto Yerba Buena Rd and continue biking until you arrive at the Sandstone Peak Trailhead Parking located at 12860-12896 Yerba Buena Rd.

Public Transportation
From Venice Beach, walk to the nearest bus stop at the intersection of Pacific Ave and Washington Blvd. Board the Metro Line 33 bus heading towards Santa Monica. Transfer to the Metro Line 534 bus at the Santa Monica Transit Center, which will take you directly to Malibu. Get off at the stop for Yerba Buena Rd. After disembarking, walk along Yerba Buena Rd until you reach the Sandstone Peak Trailhead Parking at 12860-12896 Yerba Buena Rd.
