Getting There

Driving

From central Malibu, take the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) north for approximately 20 miles. The trailhead is located on the west side of the highway, just south of the Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu. Look for a dirt parking area on the side of the road. There is no official parking fee. Parking can be limited, especially on weekends, so arrive early. Be aware that vehicle break-ins have been reported in the area.
Public Transport

While public transportation directly to the trailhead is limited, you can take the Metro Bus 534 towards Oxnard and disembark at the Las Posas Road and PCH stop. From there, it's approximately a 2.5-mile walk south along the Pacific Coast Highway to the Chumash Trail trailhead. Exercise caution while walking along the highway. The bus fare is around $1.75.
