If you are near Walnut Creek BART Station, rent a bike from a nearby bike-share program. Head southwest on Mount Diablo Blvd toward N Main St. Continue onto Ygnacio Valley Rd. Follow Ygnacio Valley Rd until you reach the intersection with San Pablo Ave. Turn left onto San Pablo Ave and continue straight until you reach the Bay Trail. Follow the Bay Trail through the scenic route until you arrive at the Golden Gate Park, where McLaren Lodge is located at 501 Stanyan St.

From Walnut Creek BART Station, take the BART train heading toward San Francisco/Daly City. Get off at the Montgomery St station. Transfer to Muni bus #5 (Fulton) or Muni bus #31 (Balboa Park) at the Montgomery St. station. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Stanyan St and Fulton St. McLaren Lodge will be a short walk to the west along Stanyan St, located at 501 Stanyan St.

When you arrive at the Montgomery St station in San Francisco, exit the station and walk to the Muni bus stop.
