This rooftop park, designed in 1957 by Robert Royston, sits atop a parking garage and offers a tranquil escape from the vibrant city streets below. The square features a variety of attractions, including a 14-foot statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen by Beniamino Bufano, commemorating the founder of the Chinese Republic. In 2017, the "Comfort Women" Memorial was added, honoring the women and girls forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. This memorial is the only statue in San Francisco that recognizes the courage of these women.
