Walking
From Yosemite Village, start at the Yosemite Visitor Center. Head south on Southside Drive for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Northside Drive. Turn left onto Northside Drive and continue walking for another 1.5 miles. You will pass the Yosemite Falls viewpoint on your right. Keep going straight until you reach the end of Northside Drive where it merges into the main road leading towards Glacier Point. From there, continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach the bus stop for the Glacier Point Tour. Board the shuttle bus that goes to Glacier Point.
Shuttle Bus
Once you arrive at Glacier Point, disembark the shuttle bus and take the trail that leads towards the Sentinel Dome and Taft Point trailheads. Follow the signs for Taft Point, which is approximately a 2-mile hike from the Glacier Point parking area. As you hike, enjoy the stunning views of the valley. After reaching Taft Point, continue to follow the trail signs leading you toward the Fallen Monarch. The Fallen Monarch is located a short distance from the main trail, and you should look for signs indicating the direction to the fallen tree.
Walking
After enjoying the Fallen Monarch, you can return to the Glacier Point area and catch the shuttle bus back to Yosemite Village. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule for return times, as the last bus might leave early in the evening. Once back in Yosemite Village, you can explore the area further or head back to your accommodation.
