Getting There

    From the center of Yosemite Village, head towards the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. Once you reach the Visitor Center, locate the trailhead for the Upper Yosemite Fall hike, which is situated just behind the center. Follow the signs indicating 'Upper Yosemite Fall Trail'. The trail is well-marked and begins with a series of switchbacks, so be prepared for a steep climb. The entire hike to the top is approximately 7.2 miles round trip and will take around 6 to 8 hours depending on your pace.

    If you prefer a shorter hike, you can take the Mist Trail from the Happy Isles trailhead, which is reached by walking from Yosemite Village towards the eastern edge of the village. Follow the road signs leading you to Happy Isles. The Mist Trail is about 5 miles round trip to the top of Vernal Fall, and from there, you can continue onto the Upper Yosemite Fall trail. This way, you can also enjoy the beautiful waterfalls along the way.

    Alternatively, if you want to take a more leisurely approach, you can walk to the base of the falls. From the Yosemite Village, make your way to the closest viewpoint, which is located at the end of Northside Drive.
