Getting There

  • Driving

    From Yosemite Valley, follow Wawona Road (Highway 41) south for approximately 1.5 miles. The parking area for Tunnel View is located on both sides of the road just before the Wawona Tunnel. From the South Entrance of Yosemite, drive north on Highway 41 for 24.5 miles. After passing through the Wawona Tunnel, the parking areas are visible on both sides. Note: A park pass is required to enter Yosemite National Park. As of July 2025, a 7-day pass costs $35 per vehicle. During peak season (May 24-26, June 15-August 15, August 30-September 1), a reservation is required to drive into the park between 6 AM and 2 PM, costing an additional $2.

    YARTS (Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System) provides bus service to Yosemite Valley from various gateway communities. From the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center, connect to the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle to reach the Wawona Road. Then follow the driving directions. YARTS fares vary depending on the origin and destination. The free Yosemite Valley Shuttle provides transportation within the valley.
