Travel Guide to Bronze Lake

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the center of Kampong Thom. Head northwest on National Road 6 (NR6) towards Kampong Thmar. Continue for about 16 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Balangk Commune. Turn right at the sign for Balangk Commune and follow the road for approximately 5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Dong Village. Once you arrive in Dong Village, follow the local roads to reach Bronze Lake, which is located near the village center.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Bronze Lake by public transport, you can catch a minibus or tuk-tuk from the central bus station in Kampong Thom. Look for a minibus heading towards Kampong Thmar. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Balangk Commune. Once you reach Balangk Commune, you may need to hire a local tuk-tuk to take you the remaining 5 kilometers to Dong Village where Bronze Lake is located. Expect to pay around $2-$5 for the tuk-tuk ride, depending on negotiation.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, renting a bicycle in Kampong Thom is a great option. Start from the town center and follow the same route as indicated for cars. The ride to Bronze Lake will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen, as the sun can be strong during the day. Once you reach Balangk Commune, ask locals for directions to Dong Village and follow the signs to reach Bronze Lake.
