Phnom Tbaeng: A Natural and Spiritual Sanctuary

Phnom Tbaeng, also known as Mount Tbaeng, is a stunning natural heritage site located in Preah Vihear Province, Cambodia. Declared a Natural Heritage Park in 2016, it spans approximately 25,000 hectares across four districts: Kulen, Preah Vihear city, Rovieng, and Sangkum Thmey. This mountain offers visitors a striking landscape of trees, waterfalls, rocky fields, and caves, making it a prime destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The area is celebrated for its rich biodiversity, providing a tranquil escape from urban life. Visitors can explore dense forests, ancient pagodas, and experience the natural beauty through hiking and adventure tourism. One of the main attractions is the Tangyu pagoda, located approximately six kilometers from the mountain's base. Established in 1939, the wooden temple is built atop two giant rocks, shaped like an umbrella, and has been a meditation place for Lok Ta Suong, a revered monk. Visitors can also explore the Chak Angre Waterfall, where they can swim, fish, and relax. The best time to visit is between July and December when the waterfall is at its highest level.
