Prasat Pram, nestled within the Koh Ker archaeological site, offers a unique and enchanting experience for visitors. This 10th-century Hindu temple, also known as the Five Towers Temple, showcases the architectural prowess of the Khmer Empire and the captivating power of nature.The temple complex comprises five brick towers arranged in two rows. The three eastern-facing towers, set on a shared platform, served as shrines, while the two western towers functioned as libraries. What sets Prasat Pram apart is the embrace of the jungle; two of the towers are almost completely engulfed by the roots of strangler fig trees. These roots, like liquid mercury, probe and penetrate the brickwork, creating a stunning visual.Historians believe that each of the five towers once housed lingas, though the interiors are now empty. A few artifacts discovered at the site, including a damaged lion statue and a four-armed Vishnu sculpture, are now housed in the National Museum in Phnom Penh. However, several lingas remain scattered across the complex in varying states of decay.Prasat Pram offers a tranquil and mysterious atmosphere, inviting contemplation and exploration.
