Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head out from the main town of Banlung, the capital of Ratanakiri Province. Start by taking the National Road 78 south towards the Cha Ŭng Kau area. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the Cha Ong Waterfall area, which is marked as 'QW5H+HW8' on your GPS. Once you reach the vicinity, you may need to follow smaller roads leading to the waterfall. Be prepared for some unpaved roads closer to the waterfall.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cha Ong Waterfall using public transportation, find a local bus or shared taxi heading towards Cha Ŭng Kau from Banlung. These vehicles typically depart from the central bus station and cost around $2-$5 USD per person. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Cha Ong Waterfall stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the waterfall entrance.

• Motorbike Rental

  For a more adventurous option, consider renting a motorbike in Banlung. Rental shops are available throughout the town, and prices range from $5 to $10 USD per day. Once you have your motorbike, follow the same route as mentioned for cars. This option allows you to explore the scenic surroundings at your own pace.

  If you are staying close to the waterfall area, you can also consider walking or hiking. The trails may vary in difficulty, but the journey offers a unique way to experience the local flora and fauna.
