Phnom Bok, a serene Hindu temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia, provides a glimpse into the region's rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Constructed in the late 9th and early 10th centuries by King Yasovarman I, the temple is dedicated to the Hindu trinity of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. It is one of three mountain temples built on hills in the Angkor region, the others being Phnom Bakheng and Phnom Krom.To reach the temple, visitors must ascend approximately 635 steps up a steep mountain. The climb is challenging but rewarding, with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. From the summit, you can see Angkor Wat, Phnom Kulen, and the vast plains of rice paddies.The temple complex consists of three identical sanctuary towers arranged in a row on a single terrace. These towers once housed statues of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. While the temple is mostly in ruins, its peaceful ambiance and historical significance make it a worthwhile visit. Phnom Bok is open daily from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
