Discover more about Prasat Preah Pithu Group

The Prasat Preah Pithu Group is a collection of five temples (T, U, V, X, and Y) located within the ancient city of Angkor Thom, offering a tranquil retreat from the more crowded sites. Situated opposite the Terrace of the Leper King, these temples were likely constructed individually rather than as a unified complex. Historians believe the temples date back to the 12th and 13th centuries, during the reigns of Kings Suryavarman II and Jayavarman VIII. Temples T, U, and V are Hindu temples, while Temple X is Buddhist, possibly built as late as the 14th century. Temple Y appears to have been unfinished. The temples feature intricate carvings, and though largely ruined, their detailed ornamentation reflects the classic art of the Angkor Wat period. Today, the Preah Pithu Group provides a serene experience for visitors. The site's wooded setting and relative lack of crowds make it ideal for quiet exploration and photography.
