Car
From Yaoundé, take National Road 2 south towards Ebolowa. The plateau region begins approximately 100km south of Yaoundé. Road conditions can vary, with some stretches being unpaved. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain. A taxi from Yaoundé to Ebolowa (passing through the plateau) costs approximately 15,000-20,000 CFA francs. Alternatively, bus services are available from Yaoundé to various towns on the plateau for around 3,000 CFA francs.
Public Transport
From Bertoua, take the N10 towards Ngoura. Continue on the N10 for approximately 80 kilometers until you reach Ngoura. Once in Ngoura, follow the signs towards the Dja Faunal Reserve. The South Cameroon Plateau is approximately 30 kilometers from Ngoura. You may encounter some unpaved roads, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you reach Ngoura, you will need to hire a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'benskin') to reach the South Cameroon Plateau. The motorcycle taxi fare will typically cost between 2,000 to 3,000 CFA Francs for the 30-kilometer ride. Ensure to negotiate the price beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings.
