Discover more about Campo Reserve

Campo Reserve, officially known as Campo Ma'an National Park, is a 2,680 square kilometer protected area in the South Region of Cameroon. Established in 2000, the park serves as a vital refuge for a wide array of plant and animal species, many of which are endangered. It borders Equatorial Guinea to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The park's diverse ecosystems range from dense rainforests to wetlands, creating habitats for forest elephants, gorillas, chimpanzees, hippos, and various bird species. It is considered a priority landscape for the conservation of western lowland gorillas and central chimpanzees. Visitors can explore the park's ecological trails and deep forest islands, immersing themselves in the tranquil environment. Campo Reserve plays a crucial role in biodiversity conservation, with eco-guards dedicated to protecting the area from poaching. The park also supports local communities through sustainable ecotourism initiatives. While access can be challenging, especially during the rainy seasons (mid-March to June and August to October), the park's charm and the warmth of its staff offer an unforgettable retreat into the wild.
