Getting There

Car

From Yaoundé, drive south on the N1 highway towards Sangmélima. From Sangmélima, continue on the Dja road until you reach the entrance of the reserve. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours, but road conditions can vary. It is recommended to travel during daylight hours. Note that there is no road access within the reserve itself.
Public Transport

From Bertoua, take a shared taxi or bus towards Lomié; the fare is typically around 2,000-3,000 CFA francs. Inform the driver you are going to Dja Faunal Reserve. Once in Lomié, take a moto-taxi to the reserve entrance for about 1,500-2,000 CFA francs; the ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Alternatively, from Yaoundé, look for shared taxis ('bush taxis') heading towards Mbandjock. From Mbandjock, take a local taxi or motorcycle taxi to Dja River Road, then to the reserve entrance. Confirm costs beforehand.

The Dja Faunal Reserve, established in 1950 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, protects a significant portion of the Congo Basin rainforest in southeastern Cameroon.
