Walking
Start from the center of Ngaoundéré at the main market (Marché Central). From the market, head northeast on Avenue de la Liberté for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Rue de la République. Turn left onto Rue de la République and continue walking for approximately 500 meters until you see the large roundabout (Carrefour de la Paix). At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue des Nations Unies. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers, passing local shops and cafes. You will notice signs for Lac de Dang as you get closer. After 2 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road; take the left path that leads directly to Lac de Dang. Follow this path for about 1 kilometer until you arrive at the lake.
Public Transport (Taxi or Motorcycle Taxi)
From the central area of Ngaoundéré, you can take a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'benskin') or a shared taxi. Head to the nearest taxi stand and ask for a ride to 'Lac de Dang.' The motorcycle taxi will take you directly there, and the fare should be negotiated before starting the ride. The journey should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions. Make sure to mention the landmark 'Lac de Dang' to ensure the driver knows your destination.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Ngaoundéré. Starting from the rental shop, head towards the main market (Marché Central). From there, follow the same route as described for walking: head northeast on Avenue de la Liberté, turn left onto Rue de la République, and proceed to the roundabout (Carrefour de la Paix). At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue des Nations Unies. After 2 kilometers, take the left fork towards Lac de Dang. The total distance cycling will be approximately 5 kilometers, which should take around 25-30 minutes.
