Once in Lagdo, follow signs leading to the lake. Be cautious as the last stretch may involve some dirt roads. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition. Parking is generally available near the lake, though it can be limited during peak times. There are no toll roads on this route.

From Garoua, take a shared taxi (sept-place) from the main taxi station to Lagdo. The fare is around 1,500 to 2,000 CFA francs per person, and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Alternatively, take a bus from Garoua's central bus station to Lagdo for about 1,000 CFA francs, with a journey time of approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival in Lagdo, hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) to reach the lake, costing around 500 CFA francs.
