Car
If you are driving from Bamenda, head east on the Nkwen Road. After approximately 20 km, take the turnoff towards Mbu-Baforchu, following signs for Shum Laka. Continue on this road for about 15 km until you reach the village of Mbu-Baforchu. The archaeological site is located at V35H+956, which is within walking distance from the village center.
Public Transportation
From Bamenda, take a bus or shared taxi heading towards Mbu. The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs around 1,000 CFA francs. Once you arrive in Mbu, ask locals for directions to Shum Laka, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the Mbu town center. Alternatively, you may find motorcycle taxis (bikes) available that can take you directly to the site for a small fee.
Walking
If you are already in Mbu-Baforchu, the site is easily accessible on foot. From the main road in Mbu, head towards the V35H+956 coordinates. The walk will take around 20 to 30 minutes, providing a chance to enjoy the local scenery and interact with the community.
