Getting There

  • Public Transport

    To reach Mount Oku, start from Bamenda and take a shared taxi or bus heading towards Wum. These usually depart every hour, with a fare of around 1,500 CFA. From Wum, hire a motorcycle taxi (benskin) to Oku village for approximately 1,000 CFA. Once in Oku, follow local signs to the Mount Oku trailhead.

  • Car

    If driving from Bamenda, head north on the N6 highway towards Wum. After about 25 km, turn left towards Oku and continue for roughly 15 km until you reach Oku village. The road is mostly paved but can be bumpy. Look for signs leading to the Mount Oku trailhead once you arrive.

  • Hiking

    From Oku village, the trail to Mount Oku is marked with signs. The hike typically takes 2-3 hours, so ensure you have water and snacks. Consider hiring a local guide in Oku to navigate the trail and learn about the area's ecology and cultural significance.
