Chutes de la Métché: A Cameroonian Wonder

Chutes de la Métché, a mesmerizing waterfall, is an iconic destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers in the heart of Cameroon. Historically, the falls were a traditional worship site for the Bamileke people. Sadly, they are also known as a site where nationalists were executed during the independence war. Legend says that the falls were a place of sacrifice to remove curses and lament the dead. Today, visitors can find salt, coins, palm oil, and even meals at the entrance, left as offerings.
