If you are in the center of Yaoundé, start at the Monument de la Réunification located at Avenue de la République. From there, head south on Avenue de la République toward Rue de l'Indépendance. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Boulevard du 20 Mai. Turn left onto Boulevard du 20 Mai and keep walking for about 15 minutes. You will pass several shops and cafes. After approximately 1 km, you will see a large roundabout. Take the first exit onto Avenue des Cocotiers. Continue straight until you reach Quartier du Lac. Municipal Lake is located at VG86+96P, which is a short walk past the local market and a few residential buildings.
