Palais des Congrès de Yaoundé

The Palais des Congrès de Yaoundé, inaugurated on May 12, 1982, stands as a testament to Sino-Cameroonian cooperation. Perched atop Mont Nkol-Nyada, it offers a panoramic vista of Yaoundé, the city of seven hills. This expansive complex, covering approximately 18 hectares, is more than just a conference center; it's a versatile space for political, economic, and cultural activities. The Palais des Congrès features a range of facilities, including a grand inaugural hall with 1,500 seats, a tripartite hall with 400 seats, and several smaller halls. It also boasts two large halls of nearly 2,000 m2 each, a hall-balcony, and two lobbies. The architecture, a product of Chinese design, provides stunning views of Yaoundé. Over the years, the Palais des Congrès has become a significant landmark and a venue for a variety of events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and cultural exhibitions. Following a period of renovation, the Palais des Congrès reopened to the public, ready to host national and international events. The site also has a 1500-seat open-air amphitheater.
