The Fundy Trail Parkway, located in southern New Brunswick, is a 2,559-hectare park that features a breathtaking 30-kilometer drive hugging the coastline of the Bay of Fundy. Taking over two decades to complete, this parkway is now considered one of Canada's best road trips. The vision of Mitchell Franklin, a Saint John entrepreneur, led to the creation of this world-class outdoor destination.The parkway boasts more than 20 scenic lookouts, offering panoramic views of the Bay of Fundy, known for having the world's highest tides. Visitors can explore a variety of hiking and biking trails, ranging from easy strolls to challenging treks. Highlights include the suspension bridge at Big Salmon River, beautiful waterfalls, and pristine beaches. The Fundy Trail Parkway is also part of the UNESCO Fundy Biosphere Reserve and the Stonehammer Geopark, adding to its geological and ecological significance.The area is rich in history, once being a thriving lumbering community in the 1800s. The Big Salmon River Interpretive Centre showcases the area's lumber and shipbuilding history.
