Getting there

Car

If you're traveling by car, start your journey by heading towards Halifax, Nova Scotia. From Halifax, take the Macdonald Bridge to Dartmouth, then follow the NS-111 E highway. After about 14 km, take exit 6B to merge onto NS-1 E toward Eastern Passage. Continue on NS-1 E for approximately 11 km until you reach the entrance to the ferry terminal at Eastern Passage. You will need to park your car at the terminal and purchase a ticket for the ferry to McNabs Island. The ferry operates on a limited schedule, so check the ferry times in advance. The ferry ride takes around 15 minutes. Once you arrive at McNabs Island, follow the marked trails to Maugher Beach.

Public Transportation

To reach Maugher Beach using public transport, you can take a bus from Halifax to Eastern Passage. Look for Metro Transit Route 61, which runs from Halifax to Eastern Passage. Disembark at the stop nearest to the ferry terminal. From there, you will need to walk to the ferry terminal, purchase a ferry ticket, and board the ferry to McNabs Island. Like the car route, the ferry ride lasts about 15 minutes. After disembarking, navigate the trails on McNabs Island to find Maugher Beach.
