Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Scatarie Island by car, start from Sydney, Cape Breton. Head east on NS-105 E for approximately 40 km. Take the exit for NS-4 S towards Port Hawkesbury. Continue on NS-4 S for about 50 km until you reach the town of Port Hawkesbury. From Port Hawkesbury, follow the signs to NS-104 E. After approximately 30 km, take the exit for NS-104 E towards Antigonish. Continue on NS-104 E for about 15 km, then turn left onto NS-245 S. Follow NS-245 S until you reach the ferry terminal at the end of the road in the community of Little Anse. Here, you can catch a ferry to Scatarie Island. Note that ferry schedules may vary, so check in advance. The ferry typically costs around CAD 25 per person one way.

    If you're using public transportation, you can take a bus from Sydney to Port Hawkesbury. Maritime Bus operates a service that connects these locations. Once you arrive in Port Hawkesbury, you'll need to take a taxi to the ferry terminal at Little Anse, which is about a 15-minute drive.
