From downtown Halifax, head to the nearest bus stop along Argyle Street, where you can catch the #1 bus towards the North End. Board the bus and ride for about 10-12 minutes. Get off at the stop on Gottingen Street near the intersection with Cogswell Street. Walk north on Gottingen Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Cornwallis Street. Turn left onto Cornwallis Street and continue walking for another 10 minutes. You will cross over a railway track and see Africville Road. Turn right onto Africville Road, and Africville Park will be on your left.

If you are starting from the Halifax Waterfront, make your way towards the Halifax Seaport. Walk along Lower Water Street heading north until you reach the end of the boardwalk. From there, turn left onto Marginal Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Barrington Street. Turn right onto Barrington Street and walk straight for about 15 minutes. When you reach the intersection with Cogswell Street, turn left and continue until you hit Gottingen Street. Turn right and walk north for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Cornwallis Street. Turn left onto Cornwallis and follow the previous directions to Africville Park.
