Walking
If you are starting from the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, head southeast on Citadel Hill towards the intersection of Sackville Street and Brunswick Street. Turn right onto Brunswick Street and walk straight until you reach the corner of Brunswick Street and Spring Garden Road. From there, continue walking straight on Spring Garden Road. After a few blocks, you will reach the intersection with Barrington Street. Cross Barrington Street and continue straight until you enter Downtown Halifax. The Last Steps Memorial Arch is located in Downtown Halifax, just a short walk from Spring Garden Road.
Public Transit (Bus)
From the Halifax Waterfront, take the Metro Transit bus #1 or #7 from the stop near the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Ride the bus towards Dartmouth and get off at the stop on Barrington Street. After exiting the bus, walk south on Barrington Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the Last Steps Memorial Arch located in Downtown Halifax.

If you are at the Halifax Public Gardens, exit the gardens and head southwest towards Spring Garden Road. Turn left onto Spring Garden Road and walk until you reach Barrington Street. Turn right on Barrington Street and continue walking for about 10 minutes. The Last Steps Memorial Arch will be on your right as you approach the Downtown Halifax area.

Take the ferry from Dartmouth to Halifax. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, exit and head towards the waterfront. From there, walk north along the waterfront promenade until you reach the intersection of Lower Water Street and Barrington Street.
