    From the main parking areas in Point Pleasant Park, follow the well-marked trails towards the southern end of the peninsula. The battery is located along the shoreline, and the walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes from the upper parking lot. The trails are mostly flat and well-maintained.

    Take Halifax Transit bus routes to Point Pleasant Park. From downtown Halifax, several routes will drop you off near the park's entrance on Point Pleasant Drive. From the bus stop, walk along the park's main road, following signs for the waterfront trails. The battery is approximately a 25-30 minute walk from the park entrance. A single fare for Halifax Transit is $2.75 CAD.

    Drive to Point Pleasant Park via Point Pleasant Drive. There are two main parking lots: an upper lot and a lower lot. Parking is free. From either parking lot, follow the walking trails towards the southern end of the park to reach the battery. Parking can be limited during peak times.

Point Pleasant Battery, located within Point Pleasant Park, is a significant historical site that offers visitors a unique window into Halifax's past. Established in 1762 during the French & Indian War, the battery was part of a network of fortifications designed to protect Halifax Harbour from enemy attack. Over the centuries, Point Pleasant Battery underwent several upgrades and modifications to adapt to changing military technologies. It played a role in the American Revolution, the French Revolutionary Wars, the Napoleonic Wars, and both World Wars. In the late 19th century, searchlights were added to counter torpedo boats, and in the early 20th century, concrete emplacements were built for quick-firing guns. Today, visitors can explore the remnants of the battery, including deteriorated concrete structures and gun emplacements. Although the battery is fenced off for safety, the surrounding park offers scenic walking trails with interpretive signs that provide insights into the site's history. The park itself is a beautiful 75-hectare wooded area with 39 km of trails, offering a blend of historical exploration and natural beauty. Point Pleasant Park is also an important Mi'kmaq gathering place known as Amntu'kati. Point Pleasant Park is open year-round from 6 AM to midnight, offering various activities such as walking, running, and biking. The park also features other historical sites, including the Prince of Wales Tower, the oldest Martello tower in North America.
