If you are driving from Nelson, take Highway 6 north towards Balfour. Once you reach Balfour, take the ferry across Kootenay Lake to Kootenay Bay. Continue on Highway 3A towards Creston, then take Highway 3 east towards Fernie. From Fernie, take Highway 93/95 north towards Radium Hot Springs. From Radium, continue on Highway 93 to Golden, then take Highway 1 west towards Revelstoke. Follow the signs for Highway 23 south towards Nakusp, and then take Highway 6 to reach French Mountain. Ensure to check ferry schedules to avoid delays, and expect some costs for the ferry crossing.

To reach French Mountain using public transportation, start by taking a Greyhound or a local bus service to Nelson. From Nelson, you can catch a bus to Kaslo, and then another bus towards the Kootenay Bay ferry terminal.
