From Lanaudière, take Autoroute 40 (Highway 40) westbound towards Montreal. Continue on Autoroute 40 until you reach the exit for Autoroute 720 (Ville-Marie Expressway) towards downtown Montreal. Stay on Autoroute 720, which will lead you into the city. As you approach the downtown area, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Old Montreal. Exit at 'Rue de la Commune'. After exiting, turn right onto Rue de la Commune E. La Grande Roue de Montréal will be on your right at 362 Rue de la Commune E. Parking may incur costs, typically around CAD 2 to CAD 4 per hour in nearby lots.

From any location in Lanaudière, take a local bus to a nearby train station, such as Joliette. From Joliette, board the train towards Montreal (Mont-Saint-Hilaire or Candiac line). Upon arrival at the Central Station (Gare Centrale) in Montreal, follow the signs to the Metro (subway). Take Metro Line 1 (Green Line) towards Angrignon and get off at the 'Bonaventure' station. Exit the station and walk towards Rue de la Commune; La Grande Roue de Montréal is approximately a 15-minute walk from Bonaventure station, located at 362 Rue de la Commune E. Depending on your travel route, train and bus fares may vary, generally costing around CAD 10 to CAD 15 for a round trip.
